Thomas G. Martin III, MD, is Director of the Hematology Malignancies Research Committee and Co-Director of the Myeloma Program at UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Martin earned his medical degree at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He completed internship and residency programs at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at UCSF Medical Center, where he was promoted to Adjunct Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology. Dr. Martin later was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. After several years, he joined the faculty at UCSF, where he continues to serve as Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Adult Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplantation Program. He is also currently the interim Co-Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at UCSF.

Dr. Martin’s research focuses on investigating novel treatments for multiple myeloma. This includes early-phase trials of new drugs, novel combinations, and therapeutics to use with bone marrow transplantation. He has a special interest in antibody therapy for myeloma, as well as novel immunotherapies for myeloma.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in hematology, Dr. Martin is a member of the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, the American Academy for the Advancement of Science, and the American Society of Hematology. Dr. Martin has authored numerous articles in the peer-reviewed literature. Additionally, he is a teacher, mentor, and a frequently invited speaker.

Dr. Martin is a member of the NCCN Multiple Myeloma/Systemic Light Chain Amyloidosis/Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia Panel, and a member of the International Myeloma Foundation Advisory Committee.

Matthew J. Matasar, MD is a medical oncologist and hematologist who cares for people with lymphoma, including Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He joined Memorial Sloan Kettering in 2008 and works as part of a team of experts who have chosen to dedicate their passion, knowledge, and experience to caring for people with lymphoma. Dr. Matasar serves as Regional Care Network Medical Site Director of MSK Bergen and also sees patients at MSK’s 64th Street Outpatient Center, in Manhattan. He was awarded the Dr. John J. Kenny Award from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 2017.

Dr. Matasar’s research focuses on finding new and better ways to treat lymphoma, specifically high-risk aggressive lymphomas and certain uncommon types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He works to improve the understanding of how current treatments impact patient’s health in the long-term to develop better strategies to protect and preserve survivor’s well-being after their treatment is complete.

I am the Physician-in-Chief, Oncology Service Line at the Sylvester Cancer Center and Professor of Medicine at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami Health System.

My research has focused on improving the outcome of patients with poor risk Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). This effort has been conducted along two tracks: 1) optimizing therapy for patients with relapsed and refractory disease, including high dose therapy (HDT) and autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT) and studying new agents that can be incorporated into salvage therapy, and 2) developing risk-adapted strategies to optimize the treatment of newly diagnosed DLBCL and Hodgkin’s Lymphoma by using what we have learned in the relapsed and refractory setting. This research has led to changes in standard of care that include PET-adapted therapies, maintenance therapy post-ASCT, utility of clinical and molecular-derived prognostic models in the relapsed and refractory setting, and the incorporation of novel immune-based approaches in the second-line setting. Two agents were approved during these clinical investigations: Brentuximab Vedotin for maintenance therapy post-ASCT for Hodgkin lymphoma and Pembrolizumab for palliation of poor risk Hodgkin lymphoma.

Prior to coming to the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, I practiced for 25 years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where I directed the division of Hematologic Oncology and had an endowed chair in lymphoma research. I have mentored 24 clinical researchers who care for patients with lymphoma and leukemia and are currently practicing at various institutions in the U.S.

Dr. Nadeem completed his internal medicine residency training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and his hematology/oncology fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. He joined the Jerome Lipper Multiple Myeloma Center at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 2018. He is an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and serves as the Clinical Director of Myeloma Cellular Therapies Program and Director of Myeloma and Plasma Cell Pathways at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. His clinical and research interests include studying the role of immunotherapy and cellular therapies in multiple myeloma, with particular focus on CAR T-cell therapy. He serves as a principal investigator of several clinical trials in smoldering multiple myeloma, newly diagnosed disease and relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma. He also attends in the Center of Prevention of Progression (CPOP) clinic at DFCI, which is focused on management of patients with precursor plasma cell disorders.

Gail J. Roboz, MD is professor of medicine and director of the Clinical and Translational Leukemia Program at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Roboz graduated summa cum laude from Yale University and received her medical degree from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and achieved the highest academic standing in the graduating class. She completed her internship in internal medicine at The Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and residency in internal medicine at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Roboz completed her fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Her research interests are in developmental therapeutics for acute leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, and myeloproliferative diseases. Dr. Roboz has served as the principal investigator on many clinical trials and has authored or coauthored numerous publications and abstracts. She sits on the editorial boards of and acts as a reviewer for several journals and has played an active role as a speaker and panelist at numerous regional, national, and international conferences.

I am an Associate Member in the Malignant Hematology Department at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute.  I serve as the Clinical Leader, Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) and Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL), as well as the Vice Chair of Medical Oncology.  Within this context, I strive to maximize the translational relationship between basic science and clinical care at Moffitt.

Neha Mehta-Shah, MD, MSCI is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis where she specializes in T-cell lymphomas.  She completed her undergraduate and medical school at Northwestern University and then completed residency at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center. She was selected as chief resident at Memorial Sloan Kettering where she completed fellowship in 2016.   She then completed a Masters of Science in Clinical Investigation at Washington University in St. Louis. She has been recognized with young investigator awards from ASH, the Lymphoma Research Foundation, the T-cell Leukemia Lymphoma Society,  the Alliance and a Paul Calabresi K12 Award. She leads multiple trials in T-cell lymphoma locally and nationally.

Eytan M. Stein, MD is an Assistant Attending Physician, Clinical Investigator and Director of the Program for Drug Development in Leukemia on the Leukemia Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He conducts novel, phase I clinical trials of compounds that target the genetic and epigenetic basis of myeloid malignancies. Dr. Stein led the clinical studies of the IDH2 inhibitor Enasidenib and the IDH1 Inhibitor Ivosidenib in patients with relapsed and refractory AML that led to their FDA approval in 2017 and 2018, respectively. He also leads a variety of phase 1 clinical trials and serves as the lead investigator at Memorial Sloan Kettering for the BEAT AML master clinical trial. His current research focuses on elucidating mechanisms of resistance to IDH inhibitors and the use of Menin inhibitors in patients with MLL-rearranged acute leukemia. His work has been published in journals such as Nature, Nature Medicine, The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA Oncology, Cancer Discovery and Blood. In addition, he serves on the Editorial Boards of Blood and Leukemia and Lymphoma.

Dr. Stock obtained her BS in biology from the University of Illinois, a MA in zoology from the University of California, Davis and graduated from Rush Medical College in 1985.  From 1985-1988, she was a resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago and completed her hematology-oncology fellowship at the University of Chicago in 1993. Dr. Stock is a tenured Professor of Medicine. At a national level, she currently serves as vice-chair of the Leukemia and Leukemia Clinical and Correlative Sciences Committees in the Alliance, a NCI-sponsored clinical trials cooperative group that leads national and international trials in leukemia clinical research and leads the NCTN ALL working group., and recently completed a term as the first chair of the NCI national clinical trials network (NCTN) Leukemia Steering committee, the committee which sets the agenda for all NCI sponsored large phase II and III trials in leukemia in the United States.

Dr. Stock is an expert in clinical and correlative laboratory research involving acute leukemias. Her focus has been to design biologically risk-adapted clinical trials for patients with acute leukemias, leading national trials for treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) that have helped to change the standard of care for young adults with this disease.  Dr. Stock has also established a young adult leukemia clinic at the University of Chicago which she runs jointly with her pediatric colleagues and which is committed to providing innovative research trials and clinical care to this patient population

Dr. Stock has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers, reviews and book chapters and serves as Associate Editor of Blood Advances. In 2014, she was awarded an endowed chair, the Anjuli Seth Nayak Chair for Leukemia Research, by the University of Chicago.  She has received a number of recent awards including the Arthur Rubinstein Mentorship award from the University of Chicago department of Medicine, the Department of Medicine Resident teaching award, and the Distinguished Clinician award from the Biological Sciences Division of the University of Chicago.  Last year, she was awarded the ASH mentorship award.

Martin S. Tallman, MD, has been appointed Chief of the Leukemia Service in the Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Professor of Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Tallman is a renowned expert in the management and development of new treatments for patients with both acute and chronic leukemia. Internationally recognized, he has been at the forefront of several key clinical trials that have led to new standards of care.

“There has never been a more exciting time in the field of malignant hematologic diseases,” said Dr. Tallman. “Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is well positioned to take advantage of the explosion of knowledge in addressing the molecular genetics of the acute and chronic leukemias. This new information, together with the myriad of new agents available, may well provide the foundation for continued new discoveries and the development of new, effective therapies.”

In addition to his significant contributions to clinical research, Dr. Tallman has held various leadership roles in the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group, where he chairs the Leukemia Committee, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, the International Bone Marrow Transplant Registry, the National Bone Marrow Program, and the Leukemia Research Foundation. In addition, he serves as one of 13 associate editors for the journal Blood.

Prior to his appointment at Memorial Sloan Kettering, Dr. Tallman served as a tenured Professor of Medicine at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Associate Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Northwestern University. Dr. Tallman received his MD degree from Chicago Medical School. After completing housestaff training in internal medicine at Northwestern University, Dr. Tallman held a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Washington.

Justin Taylor, MD, is a tenure-track Assistant Professor and member of the Cancer Epigenetics program at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Taylor lab studies the role of recurrent mutations in hematologic malignancies and how to target them with novel therapeutics using animal modeling, molecular biology and single-cell genomic techniques. The central focus of the lab is on understanding MDS biology. Specifically, they are currently investigating spliceosome mutations and the impact of XPO1 inhibitors on MDS cell survival. Dr. Taylor also holds a faculty position in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology where he sees patients with hematologic malignancies. He has published several original research articles as either first or last author in the past year in the following journals: Cancer Discovery, JCO Precision Oncology, Lancet Haematology, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Blood and Nature Genetics. He is the principal investigator on grants sponsored by the National Cancer Institute, American Society of Hematology, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Edward P. Evans Foundation for MDS.

Dr. Viny is an assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physician and Surgeons. He is a hematologist and medical oncologist and laboratory-based physician-scientist focusing on the study of clonal hematopoiesis, myelodysplastic syndrome, and acute myeloid leukemias. His research uses animal modeling and state-of-the-art 3-dimensional genomic techniques to uncover the genetic and epigenetic underpinnings of these diseases in order to find more precise and less toxic treatment modalities.

Dr. Viny received his medical degree at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical College and fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Jennifer Woyach is a professor in the division of Hematology, the section chair of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), and a physician scientist focused on translational research in CLL at the Ohio State University. Her laboratory interests include experimental therapeutics in CLL with a focus on signaling pathways and kinase inhibition. She has extensive experience studying BTK inhibitors, resistance mechanisms associated with irreversible BTK inhibitors, and strategies to overcome resistance.
